The bamboo sword “Shinai” has been known since the 17th century when it was supposed to represent an alternative to the bokken. Due to the practical usability of the “Shinai,” it has developed into a high-quality training tool, which is now an integral part of Far Eastern martial arts techniques. With a length of around 120 cm, it is standardized for competitions and is equipped with finger protection and a needle plate. The four bamboo struts are securely brought together at the top and bottom so that your bamboo sword has excellent fighting properties. A nylon band is passed over one side of your “Shinai” to mark the non-blade side.
